This exhibition shares the story of how one woman’s choice to reject societal norms in order “to live and die for God” paved the way for the heroic ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Family in New Orleans and beyond. With photos, letters and artifacts from the archdiocesan archives and those shared by the Sisters of the Holy Family, this exhibit tells the story of how Henriette defied her time’s bounds of race and gender to create a lasting legacy.
