Hear My Voice is a program of advocacy training for adolescent girls. Working together girls define the issues that are important to them, hear from experts in each issue area and learn how they can make positive change happen.
An initial core group of students identified the issues that were of paramount importance to them: reproductive health, rape and sexual violence and socio-economic issues such as the wage gap.
Designed to build character and self-esteem in girls, interaction with adults will reinforce advocacy skills and help develop a new generation of leaders.
Following expert-led sessions on reproductive rights, sexual violence and pay equity, Lift Louisiana's Michelle Erenberg led the final session in this pilot series discussing strategies for active advocacy We look forward to hearing these voices advocating for change.
