Women of New Orleans: Builders and Rebuilders

CELEBRATing GENERATIONS OF WOMEN

Women of New Orleans: Builders and Rebuilders celebrated generations of women who built and rebuilt the city by placing women at the forefront of the New Orleans narrative for the first time.    With Builders, Nola4Women developed a model for honoring the role women have played in communities across the globe.

Close to forty cultural and educational institutions staged exhibits, performances, lectures, blogs and created a new app — all engaging the community by shining a spotlight on the prominent role women played in creating the cultural, physical and social infrastructure of New Orleans.
