The exhibit featured twenty women who contributed to the rich history of Dillard University and New Orleans such as Dr. Ruth Simmons, educator and first African-American woman President of an Ivy League institution (Brown University); Brenda Marie Osbey, former Poet Laureate of Louisiana; and Millie Charles, who pioneered the Southern University of New Orleans School of Social Work. The exhibit also features three young African-American women who are students at Dillard University.
